Addictions (of all sorts) Therapy in Massachusetts, and Rhode Island
Addiction doesn’t always look the way people expect. It can involve substances, but it can also show up in behaviors like gambling, shopping, gaming, food-related patterns, or other coping behaviors that begin to feel hard to control. At LAJC, we provide compassionate, judgment-free addiction treatment for adults navigating substance use and behavioral addictions.
We understand recovery is not one-size-fits-all. Treatment is tailored to each person’s needs, goals, and level of care. If a higher level of support is needed after a full assessment, that conversation will be approached with honesty, care, and collaboration.
Addiction Counseling Can Help With
Understanding substance use and behavioral addiction patterns
Identifying triggers, risk factors, and protective factors
Replacing unhealthy coping skills with healthier recovery behaviors
Relapse prevention and long-term recovery maintenance
Managing stress, emotions, and life transitions
Improving communication and relationships
Setting goals related to work, school, and daily life
Building structure, consistency, and support in recovery
Our approach is evidence-based and focused on helping clients understand the emotional, cognitive, and behavioral patterns connected to addiction, while building practical tools for long-term change.
Recovery is not about perfection. It’s about awareness, support, and building a life that feels more stable and aligned.

Not quite. Outpatient addiction therapy — what we offer — involves regular sessions with a clinician to work through the emotional, behavioral, and relational patterns connected to addiction. It's different from inpatient or residential rehab. If a higher level of care is needed after your assessment, we'll have that conversation openly and help connect you to the right resources.
-
Yes. We offer secure telehealth sessions for clients across Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Many clients find virtual sessions easier to keep consistent — especially when life gets complicated. In-person sessions are also available at our Taunton, MA office if you prefer that.
