Life’s a Journey Counseling, LLC

Welcome to Life’s a Journey Counseling, LLC (“we,” “our,” or “us”). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our virtual outpatient mental health services and our website. By using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Services Provided

Life’s a Journey Counseling, LLC provides virtual mental health counseling and psychotherapy services to residents of Massachusetts. Services are delivered via HIPAA-compliant telehealth platforms.

Eligibility

By using our services, you affirm that you:

  • Are 18 years or older, or have parental/legal guardian consent if under 18

  • Reside in Massachusetts

  • Have the capacity to consent to treatment and enter into a binding agreement

  • Hold active health insurance or agree to a predetermined fee schedule

  • Have availability that aligns with your assigned provider

Appointments and Cancellations

  • Appointments are scheduled directly through our practice or client portal.

  • We request at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling.

  • Missed appointments or late cancellations may result in a fee as outlined in our No-Show Policy.

Client Responsibilities

Clients agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during intake

  • Maintain the privacy of login credentials if using a client portal

  • Engage in sessions in a private and distraction-free environment

  • Refrain from recording sessions without written consent from both parties

Emergency Situations

Life’s a Journey Counseling, LLC does not provide emergency or crisis services.

If you are experiencing a medical or psychiatric emergency, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.

You may also contact the Samaritans Helpline (877-870-4673) or 988 for immediate support.

Fees and Payment

  • Fees for services are provided before the start of treatment.

  • Payments may be made via credit/debit card, Venmo, or Cash App (HIPAA-compliant).

  • Clients are responsible for understanding their insurance benefits and co-pays.

  • A valid payment method must be kept on file.

Use of Telehealth

By using our telehealth services, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • You understand the limitations and benefits of virtual care

  • Technology may fail, and we may need to reschedule if connectivity is lost

  • Sessions are not to be conducted while driving or engaging in other activities

Termination of Services

We reserve the right to terminate the therapeutic relationship or access to services if:

  • There is non-compliance with treatment recommendations

  • Fees are not paid in a timely manner

  • There is a conflict of interest or breach of these Terms

You may terminate services at any time by notifying your provider.

Intellectual Property

All content on our website, including but not limited to logos, text, and graphics, is the property of Life’s a Journey Counseling, LLC and may not be copied, reproduced, or redistributed without permission.

Limitation of Liability

Our services are provided as-is. While we strive to provide high-quality, ethical care, we do not guarantee any specific outcomes from therapy. We are not liable for any damages resulting from your use or inability to use our services.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of our services after changes means you accept the revised Terms.

Messaging and Data Rates

By opting in to receive SMS messages from Life's A Journey Counseling, LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”), you agree to these Terms of service (Terms).

SMS Messaging Service By providing my phone number, I consent to receive SMS text messages from Life's A Journey Counseling, LLC for appointment reminders, marketing messages, and general two-way communication about your relationship with LAJC carrier’s terms.

Cancellation/Opt-Out Instructions

You can opt out of receiving SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message we send you. After you opt out of text messaging, you will receive one additional message confirming your request has been processed.

Help/Customer Support

Text the word HELP for support. You may also contact us directly at the number listed on our website for our main office.

Liability

We are not responsible for any charges, errors, or delays in SMS delivery or undelivered messages caused by your carrier or third-party service providers.
